If you love a beach or ocean theme for your handmade cards, you’ll want to “seas the day” with the So Many Shells stamp set from Stampin’ Up!
It must be the 100+ degree heat, but I keep making beach cards! This is a fun one, with its subtle pun and another simple but gorgeous background!
So Many Sells is a 2-Step Photopolymer set with four different shells and ten wonderful sentiments. Use this set for all occasions: Friendship, birthday, thank you, masculine cards, support and inspiration for a loved one.

With a 2-Step stamp, you use a lighter ink for the more solid-looking image, then stamp over that in darker ink with the more detailed stamp. On this card I used Soft Sky and Tranquil Tide.
The background was made with the Sponge Brayers (141714). When these came out in last year’s catalog, I was skeptical. I was happy with my old brayer with a hard rubber roller. I decided to try them out this year, and I’m very happy I did!
What I like about them is that the soft foam makes them very flexible, and I was able to create the swirls you see in the card background. Plus the sponges give the colors some texture. With the hard rubber brayer, you don’t have that flexibility or texture. I’m definitely going to be experimenting with Sponge Brayers some more!
I also indulged in Copper Foil Sheets, Metallic Thread, and Embossing Powder, all of which I used in this card. Now they’re my favorite of the metallic products! When I look at the Gold and Silver Foil Sheets now, they seem a bit hum-drum. I’m sure I’ll get over it, but for now I’m on a Copper kick! You can see another card with Copper Foil in this post: Father’s Day Card.
