Occasions Mini Carryover: You’re a Gem!

I am excited to see so many things that carried over from last spring's Occasions Mini Catalog from Stampin' Up! I  have featured some of them recent posts (HERE and HERE), and have another one to share with you today:  You're a Gem.  I have combined it with the Growing Green stamp set that came out in last year's catalog and is still with us in the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog.  I hope they both stay around for a long time!

I gave my demonstrator group this color challenge for our swap this month:  Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, and Pool Party (one of the yummy new In Colors).  I love how vibrant these colors are together!

The Rose Red background was done with the new Fancy Fan Letterpress Plate.  I inked it with Rose Red Craft Ink, and really like the tone-on-tone effect I got.  The Letterpress Plates create a debossed and inked image all at the same time, and this is the first time I have used one in a card.  It took a little practice to get it to work right, so I will be making a video tutorial for you soon.

You're a Gem is a versatile collection of fun little sentiments that I am just starting to add to more cards.  The first time I used it was in this Sweet Valentine Box:

I couldn't resist the combination of the Trinket Key with the "Key to my Heart" sentiment.  I am so glad both these items are in the new catalog, and so will be with us for at least another year!

The entire set includes these sentiments:

You're a Gem

Here are the other items featured in this project:

I will be back on Monday to show you the cards I receive in the swap.  Have a great weekend, and . . .
