This one demonstrates what I did with the layers that adds to the vintage look.
I once had a comment from someone who told me she liked a vintage card I had made, and said that if she tried to do something like that it would just look like something a truck ran over. I kind of take that comment to be similar to "I'm not creative myself" that I sometimes hear.
I have a little different attitude about that. I think we all have an urge to express our own uniqueness through creativity. Some people never got that urge nurtured and encouraged, so decided that they aren't creative. I would argue that learning to design charming, beautiful, cute, and/or whimsical projects is a learnable skill.
You can learn about elements of design, color, shapes, textures, focal point, etc., and may be surprised at how that will improve your work and bring you great satisfaction. Perhaps these vintage technique videos will encourage you to experiment with something new and expand your creative expression.
So go get your sponges out and get your fingers inky!
