The Petal Palette Bundle from Stampin’ Up! will help you celebrate spring occasions in style. The Bundle and coordinating suite of products will keep you inspired to find more and more ways to use it! Here’s my first creation:
One of the reasons I chose this bundle is for its versatility. I always look for stamp sets that I can imagine using in several different ways. You’ll reach for this set over and over with its sentiments for birthdays, weddings, Mother’s Day, new babies, and just to let someone know how much they mean to you! Click on the image to view a larger version so you can actually read the sentiments. :O)
You’ll make awesome cards with this set, especially when you add the coordinating dies in the Petals & More Thinlits. You can see that some of them cut out the stamped images, but others create garden shapes of their own for adorning your card’s layers.
Another reason I chose this bundle is because it offers great opportunities to color with Stampin’ Blends. Here’s a closer look at the artwork.
You can see that I got adventurous with the Blends.
- First I decided to see if I could stamp the image in another color besides Memento Tuxedo Black (the recommended ink to use with Stampin’ Blends). This image was stamped with Always Artichoke, and didn’t bleed at all even with the blending I did.
- Second, I’m not fond of the white outline around stamps after cutting them out with dies. I found it was easy to fill all those white spaces with Light Smoky Gray, which gives a softer look.
After doing this card, I tested all my current Stampin’ Up! inks and found the ones that don’t smudge with Blends. I’ll make a video to share my results, with other tips for using these great alcohol markers!
