Handmade Thanksgiving wishes that WOW tell friends and family how much they mean to us! If you’re like me, you love to make extra special cards to let them know how loved they are! This is my favorite this year:
The Vintage Leaves stamp set (138802) from Stampin’ Up! is perfect for cards for Thanksgiving, fall birthdays, and just “thinking of you.” There are so many ways to show off this set, you’ll never get tired of playing with it. Pair it with the Leaflets Framelits (138283), and you’ll create some stunning handmade cards!
The Early Espresso background really makes the colored leaves POP! Don’t you love how the Woodland Embossing Folder (139673) fits right in with the motif of this card?
If you’re wondering how to color the leaves in so many colors, here’s the secret: Stamp the leaves on Very Vanilla with Crumb Cake ink. Then use Sponge Daubers (133773) to color small areas with Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Cherry Cobbler, and Crushed Curry.
For a special effect, try some Tsukineko Champagne Mist Ink. Stampin’ Up! used to sell it as Shimmer Paint, but it’s still available online: http://stampingmadly.com/ChampagneShimmerPaint If you’ve never used it, you’re in for a treat. Look how shimmery the leaves are when the camera caught them at an angle:
The little clock trinket and the Hello Honey Ribbon are both retired, but the Cherry Cobbler Silky Taffeta (141989) and Linen Thread (104199) are both currently available. The Cherry Cobbler bow got lost against the dark background, and needed the yellow ribbon to show it off. I bet you could find some yellow ribbon in your craft room stash that would work just as well!
