Handmade Card with Detailed Floral Thinlits

How many ways can you make an elegant handmade card with the Detailed Floral Thinlits?  The answer is easy:  “as many ways as your imagination can come up with!”  Cardmakers and paper crafters have been loving the Detailed Floral Thinlits and the coordinating Floral Phrases stamp set from Stampin’ Up!  I’m sure you’ve seen a great variety of ways to use them.

You can see several Stamping Madly samples in these posts to get your creative juices going:  Anniversary Card, Elegant Vintage CardFloral Thinlits Shadow Card, and the Floral Phrases Thank You Card.  But I’m not finished experimenting with these awesome dies, so keep coming back for more ideas!

Here’s the latest Detailed Floral Thinlits card from the Stamping Madly studio.  It’s a beautiful Sympathy Card, a loving thought to give someone going through a challenging time.  Of course, you can change the sentiment, and it will be a lovely Birthday Card, Thank You Card, Mother’s Day Card, Wedding Card, or any other occasion you want to celebrate in style!

The card base and front panels were created with one long piece of Dapper Denim card stock.   The front panels are tied together with a bow of coordinating Ruched Ribbon.  How sweet is that?!  Leave a comment if you’d like a video on how to create the card base.  It’s super easy.

Here’s the inside of the card:

The stamp and the background technique are both shown in an earlier card in this post:  Handmade Card of Love and Hope.  Unfortunately the stamp isn’t from Stampin’ Up!, and the company that made it is temporarily closed due to health issues.

The background is a technique of blended inks on White Shimmer Paper.  Watch this video to learn the technique.

Are you inspired yet?  These dies are quite intricate, and work best in the Big Shot with the metal Precision Base Plate.  That’s because the cutting ridges of the Thinlits work best against metal, as the regular acrylic Cutting Pads aren’t firm enough.  You’ve probably noticed how much Framelits and Thinlits cut into the acrylic.  However, Framelits shouldn’t be used with the Precision Base Plate, as the pressure applied to the dies could damage them.

You can purchase the Thinlits by themselves, or in a bundle with the lovely Floral Phrases stamp set.
