Handmade Card of Love and Hope

When a loved one is hurting, a handmade sympathy card of love and hope can mean so much in the midst of challenging times.

A friend came over to show me what she was working on, and I just had to borrow this stamp from her.  I usually don’t use non-Stampin’ Up! products, since a big part of my job is to show what you can do with the cardmaking tools and supplies they carry.

Don’t forget to add a little extra love with a heart embellishment.  They’re from the 2016 In Color Enamel Shapes.  Just imagine the fun you can have with these little adornments!  They also come in Metallic (gold and silver), Brights, Regals, and Subtles, so you can always have the perfect color for your projects!

Aren’t the backgrounds lovely?  They’re made by sponging inks on Shimmery White Cardstock, then spritzing them with water to give that mottled effect.  The colors are Dapper Denim, Bermuda Bay, and Marina Mist.

Just to make the backgrounds more intriguing, I swiped them with a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Brush.  You can’t see all the sparklies in the photos, but in person they’re quite stunning!  Leave me a comment to let me know if you want to see a video of this technique, and I’ll add it to my video to-do list!

The Pool Party layer was embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder, which I can’t seem to keep off my craft table!  It’s so versatile, it will show off just about any artwork you put on top of it!  It’s spritzed with a mixture of Dapper Denim Ink (only one drop) and a dollop of Frost White Shimmer Paint mixed in alcohol in a Stampin’ SpritzerStampin’ Up! doesn’t sell the Shimmer Paint anymore, but you can use this link to get it from Amazon:  www.stampingmadly.com/WhiteShimmerPaint.

Never underestimate the impact of a handmade sympathy card of love and hope given to a loved one, it can bring a bright moment to difficult times.

You know I vote for the video as a YES. Sure would love to know where your friend got the stamp/what company made it, not that I don’t love stampin’ Up.

Will do a video when I can squeeze it in, Bernice. I’ll ask my friend, but I’m pretty sure she’s had the stamp for many years.

Telling and showing is great but a video would be so much better—hands on then and do with you along with the video—so is a YEAH for a video, please.
