Which Black Ink to Use When Coloring Stamped Images

Last Friday, I promised you a video about which black inks to use when coloring stamped images.  That post showed a lovely card with a flower stamped in black ink and colored with Wisteria Wonder and Mint Macaron.  You can see the card in this post:  Butterfly Basics.

I found that one of the black inks I tried smudged when using a Blender Pen and ink.  Very disappointing, as all the black inks I have are supposed to be permanent!  So I experimented with all three of the black inks that Stampin’ Up! carries, using both watercoloring and a Blender Pen.

Here are the results of that experimentation:

Although some of the smudging is difficult to see in the video, it’s there.  And if you’re like me, you want your colored images to look as good as possible!  I hope this new video about which black ink to use when coloring images helps you get the effect you want.
