Use the Artistically Asian stamp set when you want to make a heartfelt Sympathy Card
Sympathy Cards can be challenging to make on the spot, as when you need one, you may not be in a mood to create. That’s why it’s helpful to make a few to have on hand. This card is perfect for either a man or woman, and the sentiment is appropriate for any kind of loss or challenge.
The Artistically Asian stamp set is from the 2016 Annual Catalog from Stampin’ Up! It’s been a few years since we had an Asian themed stamp set, and I was eager to experiment with this new one. It inspired me to dig out my mother’s stash of rice papers again. You may remember the story I told about her and her artwork in this post from last fall: Vintage Leaves Thanks.
This card needed something calming instead of the wild background of the Vintage Leaves card. Don’t you love the pattern in the rice paper behind the stamps? It gives the impression of currents in a river, or ripples in a pond. I used Mod Podge to adhere it to Sahara Sand card stock, then stamped the image in Always Artichoke and the sentiment in Early Espresso.
The Seaside Embossing Folder created the perfect background, adding to the motif of flowing water. The embossing was sponged with Always Artichoke ink to bring out the texture a bit more.
Can’t you imagine using these stamps for handmade cards when you want to create a mood of serenity and compassion?
