If you want some ideas for how to make a Butterfly Basics card without adding a butterfly, I’ve got a great sample for you. If you’re like me, you’ve used the die cut butterflies on so many cards already that you don’t want to keep repeating yourself. Butterfly Basics has some beautiful images that deserve to be shown off all by themselves! A card like this is perfect for almost all occasions: birthday, friendship, thank you, sympathy, anniversary, Mother’s Day, whatever you need! Unless you’re giving it to a guy, of course. This is definitely a feminine card!
Stampin’ Up! Products
The artwork was done on Watercolor Paper with the image stamped in Black Stazon, and the coloring was done with a Blender Pen and inks. The colors are Mint Macaron and Wisteria Wonder, an especially yummy combination in my book!
The background was embossed with the cool new Seaside Embossing Folder. Your card doesn’t need a beach theme to make use of this folder. It will show off any artwork where you want some soft background texture. The piece of Delicate White Doily adds to the gentle feel of the card without distracting attention.

Tip on Black Inks
I’ve been experimenting with black inks to learn which are best for coloring images, and plan to create a video to show you results and recommendations. Be sure to check back to see what I learned!
