If you need to make an Anniversary card, you’ll love using the new Detailed Floral Thinlits! The intricate die-cut will give you instant elegance that’s too simple for words!
Ooh-la-la! Don’t you love the color combination? That’s Sweet Sugarplum, Tip Top Taupe, and Elegant Eggplant. The bow is made with the 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon that comes in all the new In Colors. Then I added the Elegant Eggplant Baker’s Twine to help lead the eye down to the “Happy Anniversary.”
The Solid Baker’s Twine is a new item from Stampin’ Up! It is soft, supple, and very thin like the two-color Baker’s Twine. I like it a little better than the Thick Baker’s Twine, but you’ll have to decide which you like best!
The sentiment is from the Timeless Love stamp set, although you can change the sentiment to make this card work for birthdays and other occasions. The textured background was made with a brushstroke from the Work of Art set, and I’ll add a video on that technique to the bottom of this post.
The Detailed Floral Thinlits are bundled with the Floral Phrases stamp set for a 10% savings. I know how much cardmakers and paper crafters LOVE to save money, so when Stampin’ Up! offers bundles, customers eat them up! You’ll love the classy and elegant projects you can make with this bundle!
If you want some tips on cutting and adhering ornate Thinlits die-cuts, watch the videos I made for the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits. I haven’t had a chance to make one for the Detailed Floral Thinlits yet, but you’ll get all the tips you need from these. Part 1 will show you how to cut various materials using different sandwiches.
Watch the beginning of Part 2 for tips on adhering the die-cut to your handmade card.
Here’s a video that shows how to make the textured background. Tip Top Taupe is a very dark ink, so if you try this, stamp off at least twice before stamping on your background.
I hope I’ve tempted you with this card and the technique videos, so that you’ll make your own anniversary card with the Detailed Floral Thinlits.
