If you’re wondering how to clean your Stampin’ Scrub pads when they get inky, here’s a quick lesson for you.
If you already have a Stampin’ Scrub from Stampin’ Up!, you probably love it because it makes cleaning stamps sooo easy! Just spritz one pad with Stampin’ Mist, rub the stamp back and forth across the pad, then do the same on the dry pad. I mark one side with tape to show me which is the wet side.
The pads pick up ink, and sooner or later it’s time to clean them. How do you know? After you rub the stamp on the dry pad, stamp it on some white scratch paper. If the pads are getting dirty, you’ll see a faint image on the paper.
The pads are easy to clean. The Stampin’ Up! website says the pads are removable for cleaning, but I recommend against that. I found that my pads got warped and didn’t fit back in the case very well. Plus the little plastic tabs that hold them in place got broken when I tried to wrestle the pads back in place
Just put the entire Stampin’ Scrub in the sink and flush with a strong stream of water. A spray nozzle works best if you have one. Be sure to clean both pads, as even the dry pad picks up ink.
You can let the pads drip in the sink for a bit.
Then put several layers of paper towels on top of some newspaper, and lay the Stampin’ Scrub pad side down on the papers.
Leave them alone for several hours or overnight. You can see that the paper towels help pull even more ink out of the pads.
Let them dry, and you’re ready to get your stamps really clean again. There will be much less residue left behind by those inky pads.
If you don’t have the Stampin’ Scrub yet, order one from the online Stampin’ Up! store using this link: http://stampingmadly.com/StampinScrub.
