If you need a very feminine handmade birthday card, Wisteria Wonder, Tea Lace Doilies, and the Corner Garden stamp will do the trick! Change the sentiment and you have a lovely card for all occasions, including Mother’s Day, weddings, friendship, and even Sympathy cards.
Newsletter subscribers have been answering questions I sent out to everyone about their biggest cardmaking and paper crafting problems. I’ve received so many replies, I’m slowly working on blog posts, newsletter articles, and YouTube videos to address the issues. Today’s post is in response to Shelly, who wrote:
Here’s my biggest concern as a stamper: I want to make my purchases as useful and versatile as can be. Once I purchase a stamp set, I want to see different ways to use it including different cards and different techniques. Stamp sets and tools, like thinlits and embossing folders, are too expensive to only use once. I’d love to see “triple plays”. Three or more different ways to use one item.
Her comments reminded me to get out the stamps I haven’t used more than once to experiment with other card designs. Wisteria & Lace is card number three using the Corner Garden Stamp. You can see earlier versions in these posts: Vintage Card and If You Like to Color.
Don’t you love the white flowers against the Wisteria Wonder card stock? They were embossed with White Embossing Powder, then colored with a Blender Pen and Whisper White Craft Ink. I did a video demonstrating this technique last spring using Indescribable Gift. Take a look:
Here’s a challenge for you: Next time you go to your craft room, pick a stamp set you haven’t used more than once or twice and try something new with it! This is a great exercise for your creativity, requiring you to think outside of the box, or to go beyond the most obvious way to use the stamps.
Leave a comment to let me know if you’ll take up the challenge!! Meanwhile, if you have a sweet friend, mom, or grandmother who loves wisteria and lace, make her a handmade birthday card that will touch her heart!
