When you see a new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, do you think, “Why should I buy In Colors that will just retire in a year or two?” If so, you’re not alone! Many cardmakers and paper crafters ignore the new colors because they don’t want to buy something that is sure to retire.
Here’s something you probably don’t know about the In Colors: Stampin’ Up! is likely to bring some of them back and add them to the color collections!
For example, in 2013 Stampin’ Up! did a “Color Refresh,” where they retired 10 colors from the collections and added 9 past In Colors plus 1 new color to replace them. Here are the past In Colors that are now part of our “permanent” collections:
Stampin’ Up! has told Demonstrators to hold on to the In Colors that retire, because some of them are likely to be brought back in the next “Color Refresh.” This is one way of keeping our color palette up-to-date with trends in the industry.
In fact, they introduce new In Colors each year is for that very reason: Stampin’ Up! wants to present colors that are currently trending in all areas of design. So if you’re one of those people who ignores the In Colors, you might want to rethink that because
- You’re missing out on some beautiful colors, and
- The ones you like best just might replace some of the older colors that aren’t as popular anymore!
