If you’re ready to finish the tour of 2015 In Colors from Stampin’ Up, read on! You’ll see two more sample cards and Part 2 of the video exploring Delightful Dijon and Cucumber Crush. You’ll see comparisons to other colors and the colors they combine with best. If you didn’t see yesterday’s post, you’ll want to use this link to view the first part of the tour: Get the Scoop.
I hope these color tips are helpful, and that you’re getting a sense of how the In Colors fit in with the rest of your palette. Of course my samples represent my own color preferences, but I’ve tried to cover enough variety in the videos that you’ll be able to apply what you learn to your own tastes!
Understanding colors, how they’re created, and how they work (or don’t work) together is an important skill for cardmakers and paper crafters. The online class mentioned in the video is a valuable resource for anyone wanting to gain more mastery and confidence when choosing and combining colors. In case you missed the link in the video, use this link to check out the class:
Since it helps to know what other people think about the class, here’s a quote from one of the many stampers who have benefited from the class:
I took Sage Kimble’s Color Class. The immediate reaction was this was a nice review of what I knew but also fleshed out the basics with some additional information and I loved her card examples. I probably studied those more than the theory presented. However, the next time I went to design a card, I found many of the elements of the class coming forward. Instead of reaching for my favorite combinations, I accepted her challenge and tried a complementary color scheme, and an analogous scheme.
I recommend you try this class. I think you will find that is one of those classes that comes back to you time and time again. -Linda Morse
