I created videos showing the properties of each new color and how I arrived at the color combinations I used in the sample cards.  You’ll get a peak into how I look at colors based on some simple color theory.

I like to keep my videos short, as close to 3 or 4 minutes as possible, as I know my followers have busy lives and don’t always have time to watch longer videos. Today’s photos are of the three sample cards in Part 1 of the video.

Take a look at the video, and let me know if this way of looking at colors is helpful to you!  Remember that the color combinations I chose reflect my taste, but I tried to give an overview that you’ll be able to apply to your own preferences.

Choosing and combining colors is an essential skill for cardmakers and paper crafters.  If you need to gain more confidence with colors, check out the online class:

Here’s a quote from one of the many satisfied stampers who purchased this class:

Thank you so much for putting together the fabulous color theory class.  It is so easy to understand and I know that I will be reviewing it probably hundreds of times until I have it totally memorized and see your teachings in everything that I look at!  Thanks again!  Money extremely well spent.  -Barb Oliver

I did not like the new In Colors when I saw them. You have changed my mind with your presentation. I’m discovering cool tones are more pleasing to me. Wisteria Wonder looks great with Mint Macaron. Thanks for taking the time to make your very informative video. Looking forward to your next lesson!

Thanks for the feedback, Ginger, I’m glad the video helped you see the new colors differently. Unfortunately the catalog this year doesn’t show the colors very well at all, so I just had to do a better job of showing them off!

Thank you Sage for this video. At first, I thought what is she talking about? This is has alot of red in it, or this one is more of a bluer tone? At the end of the video, I was thinking so that has more red in it, or this was one is much bluer before you said it! You do a great job showing how you get there and why. Thank you again. My favorite was purple. I love the color combo. Alot of people like pink and green. Not my favorite yet. Maybe when you get through your color videos I will find a combo I like. Bless you. LISA
