Tips for Using the Butterflies Thinlits from Stampin’ Up!

Since you can now order from Stampin’ Up!’s Spring Occasions Catalog, I thought I’d share some tips for using the Butterflies Thinlits. The Butterfly Basics stamp set and Butterflies Thinlits Bundle are sure to be popular with cardmakers and paper crafters.  The variety of stamps in the set means lots of possibilites for your spring projects, and the Thinlits mean you’ll have beautiful butterfly cut-outs to embellish your artwork!  You can see two samples in these posts:  Butterfly Birthday Card, and Butterfly Basics Card with Design Tip Video.

Today’s video shows a helpful hint for cutting the butterflies, but also some ideas you can use to dress up your butterflies.

The Spring Occasions Catalog was released this week and has some awesome products for all the things you’ll celebrate this spring:  Valentines, Birthdays, Weddings, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and what I call “Just Because.”

One of the best things about the Occasions Catalog is that its release coincides with the beginning of Sale-a-Bration, Stampin’ Up!’s annual give-away bash!  For every $50 worth of merchandise you order from any Stampin’ Up! Catalog or the Online Store, you’ll earn one FREE item from the Sale-a-Bration Catalog.

If you like bargains on paper crafting tools and supplies, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to re-stock your craft room while earning free stamps, etc.!  Just to entice your little crafting heart a bit more, Stampin’ Up! has included Blendabilities Alcohol Markers as Sale-a-Bration freebies.  So if you’ve always wanted to try them, here’s a great opportunity!

This video was a terrific help! So glad to learn about putting the wax paper between the cardstock and the die! I have some very intricate dies that this has been a problem with and I can’t wait to try this techinique.
I think another idea for making the flutterbye glisten might be to sponge some of the Stampin Up Illuminate ink on it. By the way, is there a refill for that ink pad? I love it and use it a lot. Stella pens would also be fun to try on it although I know they are not available from Stampin Up.
Thank you for this one Sage!

So happy to help! Unfortunately the Illuminate Pad and refills have retired, so they’re no longer available from SU. And you’re right, anything that will give a bit of texture and/or glimmer will enhance the butterflies for sure!
