Need a card to welcome a new baby? Here’s one I made for my brand new grand-niece who is now 2-1/2 weeks old:
My sister sent me the photo – this is her first grandchild, and she’s so excited that someone is going to have to peel her off the ceiling! The picture is so sweet I decided to build an easel card with it so the family could display it for a while.
The Venetian Romance Designer Series Paper (DSP) made the perfect, soft and feminine background. Of course it needed ruffles and lace, so out came the Tea Lace Doilies and Ruffled Stretch Trim. The “Welcome Delaney Jean!” was done in My Digital Studio, then printed on DSP, and cut with a Labels Framelit. The sentiment at the base is from a wonderful stamp set called Trust God.
With a stamped image, or a different photograph, this card could work for any occasion: Thinking of You, Happy Birthday, a Sympathy Card, or just a card to say “I love you.” There’s just nothing like handmade to let someone know how special he or she is to you! Of course if it’s for a guy, you’d probably want to choose a different background paper, and drop the ruffles and lace! 😀
Easel cards are always a hit with whomever you give them to. They tend to get displayed rather than end up in a pile of other cards. And you’ll love how easy they are to make! Leave a comment and let me know if you’d like to see a video on creating an easel card base. I can’t promise how soon I can do one, but if there’s enough interest, I’ll make it a priority.
Use this button to shop my Stampin’ Up! store for all your cardmaking and paper crafting supplies and tools. You’ll love the high quality papers, inks, embellishments, and tools. If you’ve not used Stampin’ Up! products before, you’ll be surprised how superior they are to what you’ll find in the craft stores.
When it’s time to welcome a new baby, think about making a handmade easel card so your love will be felt by all who see it.
