You’ve been seeing lots of handmade postcards lately here at Stamping Madly, and I have a new one for you today using the Everything Eleanor stamp set. Stampin’ Up!’s new Post Card stamp has inspired me to experiment with different effects. In case you missed them, you can see other samples in these posts: Gunge Postcard, Vintage Postcard, and Christmas Postcard.
The biggest challenge is that postcards have to be flat, so all of the dimension and texture I love in a handmade card is out of the question. Of course, you can layer stamps on top of each other, as seen in this card, which gives it’s own unique effect.
Here’s another postcard using the shape from the Everything Eleanor, which creates a striking background for the sentiment without having to cut it out. The rest of the stamps are from Blooming with Kindness, plus a little touch of gold splatters from the Gorgeous Grunge set.
Have you experimented with making postcards yet? If you’re like me, you’ll find them a bit addicting. Of course, it seems like everything in my stamping studio is a bit addicting, this is just the current “drug of choice.”
You can use almost any stamp set you have to create the front side, and finish it off with the Post Card stamp on the back. Then write a greeting, an address, add a 33 cent stamp, and send it off to let someone know you’re thinking of them.
