Cardmaking Technique Video: Watercolor Smoosh

I promised you a video for the cardmaking technique I’m calling Watercolor Smoosh.  You’ll see why I called it that when you watch the video.  You’ll love this simple technique, and have fun experimenting with it for your handmade cards and paper craft projects.

I used it for the tags on the card I showed in last week’s post, Handmade Cards for Any Occasion.  Here’s a close-up view:

Doesn’t that make an impressive background for the Serene Silhouettes image?  The video is only about 4-1/2 minutes long, so take a quick break and learn this technique.

You could use ink pads instead of Markers to put color down on the craft sheet. The pads have a much bigger footprint, so it’s harder to get all three colors on a small piece of watercolor paper like you see on the tags, but with a little practice you can probably make that work, too.  Here’s my first attempt using ink pads:

Now that you’ve watched the video, try the Watercolor Smoosh technique and see what fun backgrounds you can create for your cardmaking and paper crafting projects.
