Cardmaking Contest Entries from Michelle Pepper

Michelle Pepper has sent in two honorary entries for the Stamping Madly Cardmaking Contest, all the way from New Zealand

The reason they don't qualify as official entries, is that they're not 90% current Stampin' Up! merchandise.  She sent in the supply lists and directions for both, so if you want to make either of these cards you can substitute current Designer Series Paper and stamps if you don't have what she used.

Be sure to leave comments for Michelle on her cards.  Even though I won't be considering honorary entries for the $50 prize, I still want Michelle to see what you have to say!

Card #1

Stamping Madly Cardmaking Contest Entry from Michelle Pepper

Supplies:

  • card stock: Very Vanilla, Soft Suede
  • Designer Series Paper: Spice Cake
  • punches: Elegant Butterfly, 1-3/8" circle and 3/4" circle
  • other: champagne mist shimmer paint (mixed with rubbing alcohol), frost white shimmer paint, dimensionals

Directions:

  • Fold a 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" piece of Very Vanilla in half to form a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card.
  • Punch out five 3/4" circles, and three1-3/8" circles from the Spice Cake DSP.
  • Arrange and adhere the circles in a line at the bottom of the card. Be sure to leave part of the circles hanging off the card at either end, so you can trim it off.
  • Using a strip of Very Vanilla card stock scrap, cut a banner, experiment with the length of the banner.
  • Spray it with the shimmer paint/alcohol mix, adhere to the top right of card.
  • Punch a butterfly from the Soft Suede, spray with shimmer paint/alcohol, and attach to the banner with dimensionals. Easy peasy!

Stamp set: Loving Thoughts, Medallion
Accessories: Pearls, Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint (mixed with rubbing alcohol), Paper Piercing Tool

  • Layer a Very Vanilla banner strip on top of a wider Soft Suede banner.
  • Using the paper piercing tool, pierce a line of holes on the Soft Suede banner on either side of the Very Vanilla strip. (These holes don't show very well in the photo)
