I hope you're working on your entries for the Stamping Madly Cardmaking Contest. Today I have an honorary entry to show you.
This comes from my newest customer, Susan Sanchez. She came to one class last month, and emailed me on Sunday with the very first card she made on her own:
The reason this is an honorary entry, is that it isn't made from 90% current Stampin' Up! products, as she's only placed her first order so far. I think she did a great job on her first card, and she gave me permission to post it.
I want all of you to see you can be a total beginner and still enter the contest. I think it takes courage to put your work out on the internet for others to see, when I know a lot of you think it's never good enough! So please ignore those inner negative voices, and send me a card!
Take a look at this post for all the Cardmaking Contest rules.
This contest isn't just about winning $50 (although that's a nice perk), it's also about celebrating cardmakers, from the newest to the most experienced. It's an important tradition that we carry on. Take a look at this post on Esther Howland to learn more about the origins of our craft.
Just for grins, I'll even show you my very first card later this week. So be sure to check back!
The point is, everyone who makes cards deserves to be honored. Whether you create a card just for the contest, or send me a photo of something you've made in the past, do it for the love of the craft! If you can't figure out how to write out the directions, don't worry about it. Yours can be another "honorary entry."
Send me your entry today! Or as soon as it's ready. The Stamping Madly Cardmaking Contest wants YOU!
