Although New Years celebrations are over, it's not too early to get ready for next year with this Apothecary Art Memories Jar for 2013.
I saw the idea on Facebook. Start with an emptly jar on January 1st (or as soon as you can get to it), and each time something memorable, wonderful, funny, exciting, or uplifting, write a short note about it and put it in the jar. Next New Years Eve, you open the jar with family and friends, and read all the memories. What a delightful way to remember what a great year you've had together.
The picture I saw was a plain old mason jar, that didn't look like it would have room for very many memories, and definitely needed decorating. So here's my version of the Memories Jar:
The Apothecary Art stamp set and "Memories" from Loving Thoughts seemed perfect for a label. I used the Flower Trim from Stampin' Up!'s new Spring Catalog, Twitterpated Designer Series Paper, Victoria Crochet Trim, and some retired Baja Breeze ribbon. Here's what the back side looks like:
It's like a Mini Time Capsule, only you only have to wait one year to open it! Remembering and re-living those memorable moments with your loved ones will be a priceless tradition for New Years Eve.
You don't have to decorate it, but what paper crafter do you know who could resist doing so? Having the family help decorate it can be part of the tradition as well.
Apothecary Art and the Labels Framelits are a great starting point. And don't forget the Loving Thoughts set as well.
