Product Review: Both the Delicate Doilies and the Paper Doily Sizzlits can be tricky to get the fine cut-outs to work. I think it is just the nature of the Sizzlits, and that maybe Stampin' Up! would have done better making these in a Bigz Die. The gray foam pad in the Sizzlits doesn't compress as well as the black foam in the Bigz Dies, and I think this is what causes problems getting detailed cuts to work well. The gray foam also doesn't "bounce" back into shape very well after being compressed.
So what's the verdict? I love the doilies in this new Sizzlits enough to have persevered and made it work for me. I did have to return the first one I got because I just couldn't get it to cut right. Since Stampin' Up!'s customer service is so awesome, this wasn't a problem, and I got my new Sizzlits in a few days. The second one works fine, as you can see in the video.
If you receive/have received a die or any other product that doesn't work the way it should, remember that Stampin' Up! will absolutely stand behind their products . You can have items replaced with no hassles within the first 90 days after getting your order.
Every Big Shot is a little different in terms of how much pressure is exerted on the "sandwich" of Cutting Pads, card stock, and Cutting Platform. It takes a little experimenting to find out what will work best for your machine. Don't be afraid to use a shim under the die–a single piece of card stock is usually plenty if you need one.
Don't let me scare you off from ordering this die. Just because it is a little tricky to get the right "sandwich," you'll have no problem once you do. The projects you can make with these doilies are so lovely, and so varied, that the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits is definitely worth the experimentation it requires. Order yours today from my Online Stampin' Up! Store!

I hope this product review and the Video on How to Use the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits will help you choose to add this great die to your studio.
