I've been playing with Stampin' Up!'s Pleated Satin Ribbon this week, and decided to combine it with the Field Flowers stamp set for a spring card. For many of you who live farther north than I do, this may be a stretch. But the first crocus bloomed in my yard today, so I'm definitely thinking spring!
I really like 2-step stamp sets, and the flowers in this one are quite elegant. I knew I wanted to use Blushing Bride to go with the Pleated Satin Ribbon, but the Bravo Burgundy was a delightful surprise. I stamped the Well Worn background stamp in Sahara Sand ink to give some texture to the focal point, then brayered it with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint.
I couldn't pass up a tiny button from the Twitterpated set, since it goes so nicely with the Pleated Satin Ribbon, and embellished it with a Basic Pearl.
The Blushing Bride Pleated Satin Ribbon is layered on Certainly Celery Satin. I played with the ends of the ribbon a couple of different ways, and decided to leave the Pleated Ribbon a little shorter than the Certainly Celery–to match the layering behind the focal point.
You can see that I used a background stamp on the Blushing Bride layer, although I used Sahara Sand ink so you may not be able to recognize it–Parlor Prints.
I hope I've inspired you to see what you can create with these great stamps and embellishments from Stampin' Up!
