Handmade Vintage Card: Gently Falling

I had so much fun using the Bleach Technique with the Gently Falling stamp set from Stampin' Up! that I had to play with it some more.  The first one I did was a clean and simple design that you can see HERE.  But you know me, I couldn't resist using a little vintage technique!

I stamped the fill images with bleach on Soft Suede card stock, and when the bleach dried, I added color with Stampin' Pastels.  I embossed the outline images with Early Espresso Craft Ink and Clear Embossing powder.  What looks like drops of mud were made with a stamp from French Foliage, and then came some Gold Glow Smooch Spritz.  For the shabby chic look, I distressed and mangled the piece (and the layers) before sponging with Early Espresso.

The card base is Old Olive, and the background is Soft Suede (textured) with the leaves from the Best Friends Forever set stamped tone-on-tone.  The ribbon is Chantilly Crochet Trim on top of Pear Pizzazz Seam Binding.

I used the Jewelry Tag Punch for the tags.  The background ones are punched from a reject version of the image piece.  When I first got this punch, I was only using it with the Tiny Tags stamp set.  It wasn't long before I realized I didn't have to be limited by the choices in that set, and started looking at all my sentiments for words that would fit in the tag.  This one is from Cottage Garden, and I inked only these two words from a longer sentiment, using Early Espresso Marker.  And what better to attach them to the ribbon, than the little safety pins from Stampin' Up!'s Vintage Trinkets!

Here's how I dressed up the inside of the card.  I used pastels again to fill in the leaf outlines.

Stampin' Pastels are a great way to get all the Stampin' Up! colors very inexpensively.  A set of 40 colors from the four basic collections is only $24.95.  They give a lovely touch to any paper craft project, and can be used in a variety of ways.  If you don't have a set in your stamp room, then this is a must-have item for your next order!

If you love the little tags I put on so many of my projects, then you'll want to order these items, too!

I'll even sweeten the deal for you!  Order any of the three items shown above before midnight Friday, November 4th, and I'll give you a 10% discount!  You must call or email your order to me, as Stampin' Up! won't honor this offer.

Happy Stamping!
