Handmade Shaker Christmas Card

Do you need to get started on your handmade holiday cards and want something out of the ordinary?  Maybe you should THINK SNOW!

Here's a card for your snow-loving friends.  Or even those who hate the cold, but can appreciate the look of snow from their warm living rooms!  It uses Stampin' Up!'s new Shaker Frames and Mica Flakes, along with one of my old favorite stamp sets, Holiday Lineup.

I love these whimsical snowmen peaking out from the Mica Flakes, and it was really fun to color them.  I embossed the Serene Snowflakes on the Not Quite Navy layer with Iridiscent Ice Embossing Powder.

The background, done with the Snowburst Embossing Folder, continues the frosty them.  I embellished the card with an Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon with a Pool Party Brad.  I really like how all these different shades of blue came together in this card.

Are you ready to try a shaker card?  These products make it easy.  Just click on the images to purchase them from my online Stampin' Up! Store.

Shaker Frames
The Shaker Frames (#124155) come in a package of 6 sets, and the sizes coordinate with our circle punches.  They have adhesive on both sides, just like Stampin' Dimensionals, and are just as easy to use.

Mica Flakes
Mica flakes (#124115) come in a 7 oz. container, which is much larger than I expected.  I thought it would be the same size as our Embossing Powders, but those containers are only 1/2 oz.  Just imagine how much iridescent snow you can spread around this holiday season!

Do you need to know how to use these items?  Leave me a comment if you'd like me to make a quick tutorial for you!  Now go get your fingers inky!
