Another Vintage Medallion

Ever since I got the Simply Scored tool from Stampin' Up!, I can't stop making medallions.  Or "lollies," as some people call them.  Here's one of my newest:

Mocha Morning Vintage Medallion from Stamping Madly

I love this Mocha Morning Designer Series Paper (DSP), and think it makes a very elegant medallion. The first thing I did was cut a 1-1/4" x 12" piece of DSP, then swabbed it with some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint to give it a bit of sparkle.  I also distressed the edges.

Next I scored the strip every 1/4", and made accordion folds along the score lines.  After using Sticky Strip to adhere the ends of the strip together to form a circle, I smooshed it down into the medallion shape.

For the center, I used a Vintage Brad, some DSP punched with the Boho Blossoms Punch, and Early Espresso card stock punched with the Triple Layer Doily Punch.  The Crumb Cake Top Note background is stamped tone-on-tone with the flourish from Elements of Style.

I layered the ribbons, Very Vanilla Satin on the bottom, Soft Suede 3/8" Taffeta on top with a bow.  The Early Espresso background was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, then sponged with Early Espresso ink to accentuate the design.

Let me know if you'd like to see a video tutorial on making these medallions.  I have it on my list, but will put it up at the top if enough people want it!  Just leave a comment or email me at

Happy Stamping!

Sage this is BEAUTIFUL! I haven’t started making the “lollies” yet but you’ve inspired me to give them a try. (Maybe that will be one of our projects for my Saturday open house…) Thanks for sharing!
