Goodbye and Hello!

I have really enjoyed the Nautical Expedition Suite in the Summer Mini Catalog, and am sad to say goodbye.  It is perfect for masculine cards.  I don’t often make masculine cards, as the Stampin’ Up! images that appeal to me most lend themselves to more feminine and romantic designs.  Plus, I just love indulging my girly side!  When I saw the Nautical Expedition Designer Series Paper and The Open Sea stamp set, I knew I had to have them to make cards for the men in my life!  Here is my latest sample:

I’m also on a medallion kick lately, ever since I got the Simply Scored tool in my Holiday Mini Catalog preorder.  I love how easy it is to make all the score lines with Stampin’ Up!’s new scoring tool.  It has a 12″ x 12″ base, with scoring grooves every 1/8″.  Other score tools I have used are more difficult to use because they don’t have grooves this close together, so I was always having to move my paper or card stock to make use of 1/8″ spacing.

I found the easiest adhesive to use for the medallion is hot glue because it dries so fast and will adhere all the pleats to a flat piece of card stock.  In addition to the Designer Series Paper, I used Cherry Cobbler and Not Quite Navy card stock, a Bitty Button, and Cherry Cobbler and White Baker’s Twine. The sentiment is from Word Play, embossed with White Embossing Powder.

If you haven’t added the Nautical Expedition Suite to your stamping studio, don’t delay another minute!  These great products will retire August 31st, and then they are gone forever!
