Handmade Birthday Card: A Robin for Robin

Today is my good friend Robin's birthday.  Whenever he comes over to buy a card for someone, he is always drawn to the images from the Nature Walk stamp set, so I just had to give him a robin for his birthday.

I embossed the bird with Early Espresso Craft ink, colored it with Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, Peach Parfait, and Calypso coral Markers.  I used the Paper Piercing Tool to outline the oval, then spritzed and smooched, and sponged for more texture.

The background was done with the Fancy Fan Letterpress Plate–you can tell I am on a roll with this item–using Sahara Sand Craft ink on Sahara Sand card stock, and Gold Glow Smooch Spritz for a little sparkle.  The eggs are also from the Nature Walk set, embossed in Early Espresson on Sahara Sand card stock, then spritzed with Crumb Cake and Smooch Spritz.  I like how the eggs tie in with the bird in the oval.

Robin  liked the little button brads from the Vintage Trinkets embellishments on a card I showed him this weekend, so I was sure to add them to his card. The birthday sentiment is part of a stamp from On Your Birthday, embossed with Early Espresso.

I don't do very many cards for men, in case you hadn't noticed.  I just have too much fun making all the girly stuff!  This one works great as a masculine card, though, and I will have to make a few more of the design to have around for other "manly" occasions!

If your fingers aren't inky, it must be time to get off the computer!  Happy Stamping!
