Stampin' Up! has a great new set of In Colors in the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog. You might be asking your self, "What the heck are In Colors?" Every year Stampin' Up! introduces five colors that follow trends in the worlds of fashion and decorating. They will be part of our palette for two years before they retire. Think of the In Colors as the desserts to an already well-rounded meal!
Here is a handmade card that shows all of them off quite nicely. The names, in the order of the scalloped layers: Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Island Indigo, Calypso Coral, and Lucky Limeade. No wonder I thought of them as desserts. What a yummy set of colors!
The stamp set is also new. It is called My Friend, and I loved creating this card with it. The graceful silhouette of leaves and flowers made a great tone-on-tone background here, but would work just as well as a focal point. And what fun it was to play with the raindrops!
The set also includes the stamp that made the background on these circle layers. I couldn't figure this pattern out at first, but now that I look at it, it reminds me of raindrops hitting a puddle. I don't yet have the new In Color brads and ribbons–they weren't available as a pre-order item, so I have to wait for them just like everyone else–so I used the Ribbon Border Punch and a Subtles Flower Brad.
I can hardly wait until Friday to order more of the new stamp sets and accessories when the 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog goes live.
