Vintage Butterfly Card

Geranium, Wild Yam, and Licorice Vine
Good evening, Stampers.  Hope you had a great holiday weekend.  I spent much of my weekend making some new projects I want to share with you.  Here is the first one:
I have been seeing butterflies decorated with a stamp in many posts lately,
and finally got a chance to try it myself.
I really like how this turned out,
but since I designed it for my stamp club,
I thought I would do a simpler version:
I like this one, too.
In fact I like the Mini Vintage Tag better without the brad in this version.
Now in club on Sunday
people can decide whether to spend the extra time to do all the distressing.
Here are the particulars:
The butterflies are cut with the Beautiful Butterflies Die
from Very Vanilla and Pink Pirouette card stock.
I stamped the image (Elements of Style again) on the Very Vanilla
with Early Espresso,
and colored it with Blushing Bride and Old Olive Markers.
I used my favorite technique that I described in this tutorial HERE.
Then I used Stampin' Up!'s wonderful Color Spritzer Tool
to get speckles of Crumb Cake and Blushing Bride.
Next it got a good dose of Gold Smooch Spritz for the bling factor.
The Pink Pirouette butterfly is cut from textured card stock
and stamped with the same roses in Crumb Cake Ink.
Both butterflies got sponged with Crumb Cake, and tied with Linen Thread.
On the stepped up version, I added some pearls from the now retired Pretties Kit.
For the background I stamped the same image on Crumb Cake card stock
with Crumb Cake ink.
Then I used a sponge dauber and Pretty in Pink pastel
to lightly tint the roses.

Then came spritzing and smooching and sponging.

For the tag I used some Pink Pirouette
cut with one of the tags on the Matchbox Die.
The "remember" stamp is from Define Your Life,
and stamped with Early Espresso Ink.
With the Mini Vintage Tag, I adhered an "r," cut from Early Espresso
with the Naturally Serif  Decorative Strip Die, and added a Linen Thread bow.
Then more spritzing and smooching to both tags.
I think you can see the shimmer from the Smooch Spritz in the above picture.
Double click on it to get a bigger view.
Both tags were attached with Dimensionals.

Under the Crumb Cake background layer is a piece of Blushing Bride
stamped with the same rose image in Crumb Cake.
Both have the edges sponged with Crumb Cake ink.
For the stepped up version I just distressed the layers before putting everything together.
All went on a base of Early Espresso.

So there you have it.  Now if you don't have this set yet, perhaps this project has you itching to get it.  It was in the Occasions Mini Catalog, and was carried over into the new Idea Book and Catalog.  You can find it on page 133 when you get your new catalog.  Just let me know if you need a catalog and I can send you one. (

The Beautiful Butterflies Die is on page 206.
That is all for today.  I love to get comments, so leave one and let me know what you think of this card.  Be sure to check back on Friday for the Stamp-a-Holics challenge, and I will be posting some swap cards from my Upside Downline group as well.

Wow, you can see how tired I am and what attention I paid to the comment I just left. My hands think they are still fitted for a paint brush or roller I guess. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I do know how to spell. Blessings
