Easy Elements

Red Yucca
As promised, I am back to show you the other easy card we did in my class last Saturday.
Very simple, yet quick to make, even for a total beginner.
The stampers loved it.
I am still on my Neutrals kick:
The base is River Rock,
an In Color from the past that Stampin' Up! has brought back.
I paired it up with Early Espresso and Very Vanilla.
The stamp is of course from Elements of Style,
you have probably seen it many times,
both on my blog and those of other SU demonstrators.
It is my favorite stamp from the Summer Mini Catalog,
AND appears in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog,
which goes live in only 2 more days.
Woo Hoo! I have been working on my order for days.
Back to the card.
The ribbon is Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta,
one of the ribbons Stampin' Up has added to this year's catalog.
The stamp on the tag is also from Elements of Style,
and the bow is made out of Linen Thread.
Now you know me,
I have a hard time leaving something this simple.
Can you guess what I did to step it up?
(Hint:  Lil T would have a cow if this were a 10 minute challenge!)
Yes, I made a vintage version:
For this card I colored the image lightly with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive,
using the same technique as last Friday.
 You can see it HERE.
Then I spritzed the Very Vanilla with a Crumb Cake marker
and sponged the edges with Crumb Cake ink.
Next I distressed the heck out of the image piece and the Easy Espresso mat.
I love how the muted colors in the image fit right in with the vintage look.
I am off to finish up my wish list so it will be ready to go at noon Thursday when Stampin' Up! starts accepting orders.  Hope you enjoyed another sneak peek, and are getting ready for your own wish list.  I will post again Friday with this week's Stamp-a-Holic challenge.  Be sure to come back and see what Lil T and I have to share with you.

Oh, the vintage version definitely is my favorite. I like how you showed a beginner and a stepped up version of the same card. Gives us good ideas of what we can do with our plain jane cards. TFS!

A very beautiful card. Love the way you get the muted colors. Thanks for sharing your technique.
