Red and Orange

Happy Monday.  Here is another garden treat for you:

Here is a card we did in class yesterday.  It was inspired by Lee Conrey, who does a lot of textured white on white with just a little color.

This card is part of my mission to design simpler cards that are still rich and lovely.  I showed the Baja Bird cards HERE.  I will test it out at next Saturday's class to see if it really is simple.  This red and orange butterfly card worked great yesterday.  I did very little teaching, just helped with the embossing, and then everyone was able to put it together themselves.

The card uses Whisper White, Real Red, and the soon-to-retire Only Orange card stock.  The stamp is from All Holidays, is stamped with Real Red Craft Ink, and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  I ran the Whisper White background through the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  Some Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon set it off nicely, and of course the lovely little butterflies from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

Did you know that you can still order the Beautiful Wings Embosslit and the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, even though the Occasions Mini Catalog that they appeared in has retired?  In fact there are a number of items from the Occasions and Holiday Minis that have been carried over.  Here is a flyer from Stampin' Up! showing Carryover Items.  Click on the image to see a larger view.

I think your card is beautiful! I know how hard it is however to keep it simple — it goes against everything that I want to do when creating. But the customers love the simple cards better, so for classes thats what I create. So very hard for me – thats way I CASE a lot of KISS cards. Also, thanks for letting me know about e-mail not showing — I also forget about this.Hugs, S.
