As promised, I have a Mother’s Day project to share with you. I know, Mother’s Day isn’t for two more months. I find I am always looking to the next occasion when designing cards for my classes and stamp clubs. That way stampers still have time to order the supplies they might want to use on their own projects. So forgive me if it seems like I am jumping the gun. I guess I am!
This card features the Vintage Vogue stamp set and Very Vintage wheel from the Occasions Mini. That wonderful little catalog is current until the 1st of May, when our new Summer Mini comes out. So if you haven’t taken a look yet, check it out through the link on the left sidebar.
This is my first attempt at a truly vintage look. As I worked on the design, I kept thinking that it is like finding something that has been stored for years (decades?) in the attic and is all torn and dusty. Then dusting it off and adding some ribbon to spruce it up a bit.
The background for the card front is cased from my upline’s sideline (does that make her my aunt-line?), Eva Davalos. I love the soft colors hidden behind the “dirt,” which is Creamy Caramel ink sponged all over the design.
For the greeting on the inside of the card, I used Messages for Mom, another set from the Occasions Mini. Of course you could substitute Happy Birthday or Thinking of You if you prefer. The floral designs are also from Vintage Vogue.
